War Tuba is a free tuba sample library created with the tuba player. It contains recordings of a “regular” Bb tuba, not an acoustic locator.
Part violin family, part machine. The three String Cyborgs – Zinc, Blackheart and Ironface – use the processed and looped sounds of bowed strings (cello and double bass) as oscillators, and place them in a synthesizer architecture with unison, detune, filters and even some humanization parameters.
Scarypiano has three voices – one is made from all three original velocity layers, another is made only from the loud layer, and the scariest voice is made only from the medium layer. It’s a 342 MB download and contains 430 16-bit WAV samples, an SFZ mapping and even a GUI for Plogue Sforzando complete with bloody eyeballs for knobs.
Bear Sax is a free sample library for Plogue sforzando of a very nice Conn bartione saxophone from 1926. This instrument includes cross-faded dynamic layers for the sustain notes, making it the most realistically expressive thing we’ve done to date. Also included are staccato, subtone and growl articulations.
Shortcircuit was created as a reaction against the ongoing trend where software samplers are being designed with the primary intent of library playback. It is intended for people who, like us, consider a sampler to be a musical instrument in its own right, and not just a way to emulate other instruments. It has been a very high priority to make sure that adding and editing individual samples is as fast and logical as possible.
TAL-Sampler is not just a sample player. It’s a full featured analog modeled synthesizer with a sampler engine as sound source, including a powerful modulation matrix and a high quality self-oscillating 24/12/6 dB low pass filter.
